December 2009
Blackrock Munster Champions!
Sorry I realise that this is the 3rd month in a row I have featured the GAA, but it has dominated conversations in the 2 parishes for
these last few months. Anyway it isn't every day you become Munster Champions.... Indeed Blackrock are the first Limerick club
to win the Munster Junior championship.
Pictures of the Munster final are now at the bottom of this page and I have added pictures of the Fancy Dress party in the
Greenwood Inn in aid of Bord na Og at the top
The Munster final was held
in Mallow this past Sunday
the 13th December. A huge
crowd turned up and they
were treated to a cracking
game of hurling for any
month in the year, let alone
December.
While it was a low scoring match Blackrock were on  the back
foot in the first half, with Fermoy taking some great pints. At half
time with Blackrock 2 pints down,  there was concern among

At the start of the second half it was Blackrock that got off to the start needed and within minutes they were back level with Fermoy.

into Kilfinane for a open air
reception. Seoirse Bulfin did
the MC as each player was
introduced to the crowd. This
was a great way to mark the
day, but boy was it cold!
The Bord na Og
Christmas Fancy Dress
party 2009 was held in
the Greenwood Inn, just
after Christmas. It was a
great night and general
comment was people
were looking forward to
next year already.

The place was wall to
wall super hero's.
Okay in the
interest of
fairness here is
a picture of me
with George....
(don't ask
about the hair)!
With outfits like those on the right,
you now know why I was waring
sunglasses in the picture above
I asked George did he get what
he wanted for Christmas.........
